B&H Foodies July leaders announced

Voting numbers continue to exceed last year’s in the Brighton & Hove Foodie Awards since it was launched as part of the city’s spring food festival in April, according to organisers Natural PR.

Every second Friday of the month, the Foodie leaders – those who have received the most votes from the public so far – are announced on Juice FM by DJ Andrea Fox and food writer Andrew Kay from The Latest magazine, until voting closes in September. The final winners will be presented with their awards during the Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival.

So what’s happening on the leaderboard in July?

Best Restaurant: Terre a Terre has maintained its hold on the top spot. The Chilli Pickle has regained its place on the leaderboard and has gone into second place for the first time with Indian Summer slipping back to third. Competition remains high with 100 different restaurants now voted for.

Best Food Pub: The Ginger Pig, The Prince George and The Basketmakers continues to jostle for place. The Ginger Pig has reclaimed the top spot pushing the Prince George back into second place but The Basketmakers are not giving up and have tied for third place with a new name to the leaderboard this month – The Lion and Lobster. It remains incredibly close in the top ten with everything to fight for.

Best Café: Iydea maintain their hold on the top spot but last month’s newcomer to the leaderboard Metro Deco, is showing increasing support and has overtaken Cloud 9, coming in second and third respectively. Can either of them catch Iydea as we enter the last two months of voting?

Best Food Shop: There’s still no change in this category – the wonderful Infinity Foods holds its lead, with the brilliant Taj in second place and the Real Patisserie coming in third. Will there be a shock change in position next month, only you can make this happen so get voting!

“The huge numbers of people who have voted in the first three months have confirmed what a success the Foodies have become – thank you to everyone who has voted and all the food outlets which are so enthusiastically taking part. But remember there is more than two months to go until voting closes on 12 September and much can change in that time” said Paula Seager, MD of Natural PR.

“So we want to urge everyone to keep it up - food outlet owners please keep encouraging your customers to vote for you and - come on people who live in Brighton & Hove! - you must have a favourite restaurant, food pub, café and food shop, so please vote now!” www.brightonfoodawards.com
